In quest of serenity and tranquility, far away from the urban cacophony, I along with my spouse set forth for Mukteshwar in Uttarakhand. Mukteshwar is a pleasing hamlet situated at an elevation of about 7000 ft. above sea level in Nainital district. It offers distinctly visible 180-degree view of the majestic Himalayan range. It is believed that Lord Shiva killed a demon at this spot and he granted him salvation. Calling this a land of renunciation, Swami Vivekananda said “Everything in this life is fraught with fear; Renunciation alone is fearless.”
There was an undeniable delight at the sight of beckoning hill range at Haldwani from where climbing starts for the destination through anfractuous roads with fascinating bends. After nine hours of journey by car we reached our destination-One Partridge Hill. Every aspect of this property makes one feel like it is customized. One side of it is covered by forest and on the other side it offers splendid view of the enchanting valley and the Himalayas. The rooms and bathrooms are quite tasteful and luxurious. There is a lovely walking trail to explore around the property. Standing at the garden I could experience the scenic resplendence. It is uniquely environment-friendly with provision for rain water harvesting. There is a backyard compost pit to make soil conditioner for its dizzying array of flower plants and other homegrown vegetable plants.
It has everything is offer from comfort to luxury. Its ultra-chic décor, along with earthy feel, brings in a sense of warmth and comfort.The collection of exotic flowers, plants is a true reflection of the vivid hues with intricate pattern and rich colours makes this property exquisitely stunning. Renowned British film director, John Harrigan said, “Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower.”
The owners have put their heart and soul in building this four-room boutique property, which is truly a hidden gem of Kumaon. There is a ramp right from the parking till the rooms, keeping in mind its differently abled guests, while many star properties in the hills still lack basic facilities and amenities for the differently-abled.
One can enjoy the beauties of nature in an abundant measure from here. The floating clouds, the all-pervading multicolor flowers with soothing smell, the trees standing like sentinels with birds singing sweet harmonious songs in their branches, the cool breeze and humming bees, all cater to human senses. It is true that nature teaches man the lesson of peace, innocence, purity, love, harmony, simplicity, hope and faith in the glory of God. William Wordsworth, a staunch lover of nature, believed that nature is a storehouse of joy and pleasure. It is an overflowing fountain of divine beauty. It has a healing touch of its own; a ruined body or a broken mind find a lot of comfort and consolation in the lap of nature.
Beyond the relaxing atmosphere at the stay in this luxurious home stay, the next best part was the fantastic food with excellent service. Their undying zest to help out and hospitality was impeccable. Our wishes were really their pleasure.
