Aamaghati Wildlife Resort is a sanctuary of tranquility and adventure, nestled in the heart of Ranthambore’s breathtaking landscape. A five-hour journey from Delhi and we were at this retreat, where nature and luxury seamlessly intertwine. Designed with the tribal surroundings in mind, the resort offers an immersive jungle-themed experience that pays homage to the rich biodiversity of Ranthambore National Park.
Guest accommodations at Aamaghati are thoughtfully curated to reflect the wilderness that surrounds them. Each room features a unique jungle-inspired design, incorporating earthy tones, rustic textures and indigenous elements. Adding to the thematic experience, the resort is divided into zones reminiscent of the national park, with every room named after a famous Ranthambore tiger. Stepping outside, guests are greeted by stunning views of the Aravalli Range and the dense Ranthambore forest. If you are looking for a resort where you want to spend time amid nature, this is a perfect fit.
Spread across 5.3-acre resort, the concept of the resort was created by Mud Architecture pioneers, the late Revathi and Vasant Kamath, who unfortunately passed away during the pandemic. Despite the tragedy, the resort owners pursued their vision and built an environment-friendly and sustainable resort. The resort uses a special technique involving mud, cow dung and lime plaster, along with thatched roofs and bamboo details. The lime plaster matures after fifty years and is a key feature of sustainable architecture. Cement usage throughout the resort is minimal. The resort’s layout exactly replicates the Ranthambore National Park and its zones. The entire resort has been built on an elevation higher than the boundary walls, providing a panaromic 360-degree view of the surroundings. Every part of the resort is wheelchair accessible.
We checked into the Legacy Suite that featured a spacious living room, bedroom and a jacuzzi that was perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. Our suite also had a cozy sit-out area where the sounds of the jungle provided a soothing backdrop to our evenings. The resort’s commitment to sustainability is evident in every aspect of its operation. Powered by renewable energy sources, Aamaghati takes conscious steps to minimize its environmental impact while actively collaborating with local organizations to protect and preserve the habitats of Ranthambore’s diverse wildlife. The rooms are decorated with local art sourced within a radius of hundred kilometers.
The resort features two swimming pools, each offering a unique ambiance. One pool is perfect for a leisurely dip, surrounded by lush greenery that enhances the feeling of being in a tropical oasis. The other is designed for those who prefer a more invigorating swim, providing a space to relax and recharge under the open sky.
The multi cuisine restaurant ‘Baradari’ presents a diverse menu that seamlessly blends global flavors with traditional Rajasthani cuisine. The highlight of our trip was dining at the elevated rooftop: the High-Point, that offers stunning panaromic views of the resort and the vast wilderness beyond. Here, enjoying a meal under the starlit sky adds an element of enchantment to the gastronomic journey.
For families and culture enthusiasts, the resort curates an array of engaging activities. The high tea experience at Chai Tapri is a celebration of Rajasthan’s vibrant traditions, featuring local folk dances, pottery sessions and bangle-making workshops. The presence of skilled local artisans adds an interactive and educational dimension to the experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of the region. Sharing these moments with family made the experience even more special, creating lasting memories of artistry and cultural appreciation.
The resort also houses the Sri Sri Wellbeing Spa which is a haven of relaxation, where traditional Ayurvedic therapies and holistic treatments transport guests to a state of complete serenity. I opted for the Abhyangam massage that left me refreshed and revitalized.
No visit to Ranthambore is complete without embarking on a wildlife safari and our journey into the park was nothing short of spectacular. The thrill of venturing into the dense jungle, guided by expert naturalists, was heightened by the anticipation of spotting Ranthambore’s most revered resident—the Bengal tiger. Luck was on our side as we encountered one of these magnificent creatures in its natural habitat, a sight that left us awestruck and deeply appreciative of the efforts taken to conserve this endangered species.
Aamaghati Resort is more than just a luxurious escape; it is an experience that harmonizes adventure, sustainability, and cultural immersion. Whether seeking a peaceful retreat, an exciting wildlife expedition, or a deep dive into Rajasthan’s artistic traditions, this resort offers it all. With its impeccable hospitality, thoughtfully designed spaces, and commitment to ecological conservation, Aamaghati stands as a premier destination for travelers looking to explore the wild beauty of Ranthambore without compromising on comfort.
