In the sprawling 12 acres of Heritage Village is an expanse of lawn spread over an impressive 50 meters. As the sun set in the distant, on the first day of my stay there, I lazed on the lawns as my wife belted out a few yoga routines she had recently picked up. In that moment nestled amidst a refreshing cover of large trees and the orange-tinged clouds, I realised that it was possible, even if for some time, to forget my life outside.
And that is how I want to remember Heritage Village Resort & Spa based in Manesar- as a place you to go to leave your office behind. Better yet, a place to leave behind the thousand worries ailing you. I went in for the weekend and came out enthusiastically revived to take on life by the horns. For the NCR resident, this place is a veritable blessing. It is a resort that will give you your space and yet manage to meet your quota for fun.
What should you do there? Amble leisurely in its lush premises; take a deep breath of that nurturing air; play tennis, badminton or cricket with your spouse or kids and enjoy the food scrounged up by the in-house chef. There is little that will make you complain about the Heritage. The place is running in top form. This is partly due to a whip-smart management ( Heritage Village Resort is part of Select Hotels, same group that runs Delhi’s swanky Select City Mall) and partly due to the warm and courteous service staff. The décor inspired by the havelis of Rajasthan is breath taking and the collective effect of the place, the management and in its hospitality will leave you feeling pampered and spoilt.
Rooms: Designed tastefully, the 114 rooms at this resort are not your usual assembly line hotel rooms. Equipped with modern amenities, the rooms still manage extending the feel of residing in a haveli and yes there is a small window-side baithak too.

Food: There is Jharokha- a 24-hour restaurant that serves both a-la-carte and multi-cuisine buffets. For dinner, try the authentic Mughlai cuisine at Surya Mahal. If you wish to swill a few cocktails head to the stylish Bhangra Beat, the lounge bar that will play up the choicest of Bollywood numbers. Though there is variety, the resort definitely needs to pay a little more attention to food as more and more holiday makers are heading to resorts that offer a satiating gastronomical experience. Heritage Village Resort is not there yet.

Beyond Rooms: Once you are done with fun and food, relax with a rejuvenating spa at the Spa Aruna. The masseurs are experienced enough to wring out every last bit of tension from your muscles.
If you plan to visit the place, do ask the management on their evening entertainment plans. During our visit, the management got a delightful indie-sufi band to jazz up the night. Helped by generous servings of free-flowing cocktails, the audience was up in no time. Before me and my wife called it a night, we had danced our way from old Mukesh and Rafi hits to the most recent Bollywood tracks. I am embarrassed to admit it but we were not the first ones to hit the floor. It was the families- the moms, the dads, the children and even the grandparents who started shaking a leg much before us- the youngsters. It was a reassuring sight. If you are a family man, you could safely let your guard down and dance your heart out instead of worrying for your family over drunken men.
Wedding Destination: The Resort property is a great option to organize weddings and conferences.
In the morning, you can wash it all off with a playful splash in the pool followed by a hearty breakfast that the hotel lays out. When you are about to check out, the bill will not make you jump out of your seat. Heritage’s weekend packages are tailored to meet your expectations on the expense front as well.
